CTSFW Cont. Ed Class – Faithful Preaching and Faithful Hearing: Homiletics for Pastors and Laity

Description
Homiletics can often be a one-sided affair. Pastors gather together and study what it means to preach. But pastors who practice preaching without listening to lay hearers are only “preaching to the choir” or “preaching to the pastor,” as the case may be! In order to be most effective in preaching, pastors must be constantly mindful of their audience. In order to be faithful in our hearing, the audience should know something of the goals of preaching. This class will take advantage of the presence of both pastors and laity in order to study the homiletical task together with the goal of becoming better preachers and better hearers. A note to elders: This would be a wonderful class for congregational elders to attend with their pastors that they may all learn together!
